Avalanche
Avalanche is a decentralized blockchain platform that seeks to provide scalability, security and interoperability. It was launched in 2020 and was developed to address the scalability challenges faced by many existing blockchain networks.
Avalanche uses a consensus mechanism called Avalanche Consensus, which is based on a network consensus protocol known as random sampling consensus. This protocol allows multiple transactions to be confirmed simultaneously, resulting in high throughput and fast confirmation times. In addition, Avalanche Consensus also provides security against 51% attacks and is designed to be resistant to malicious nodes.
One of the key features of Avalanche is its ability to support multiple blockchains, known as subnets, on a single platform. This allows different applications and projects to have their own custom blockchains, each with its own specific rules and characteristics. However, all subnets can communicate and interact with each other, promoting interoperability and the exchange of digital assets between the different blockchains.
